Duct Tape Dads  Psalm 128: 1-6  Bro. Jim celebrates Father’s Day by using Psalm 128 to illustrate God’s blessing to Christian Fathers. He explains that as Godly men, we must fight for our faith, fend for our family and fear for our future.

FBCLA Cancer Service This evening service was called a Cancer Service to encourage those who are affected by cancer in either their lives or the lives of loved ones. After our guest speaker, Chris Hall Wiggins gives her heartfelt testimony,  Bro. Jim proceeds to deliver a short sermonette about our condition as Christians in this world.

Living In The Land of The Dead John 11:1-14 Bro. Jim uses the story of the raising of Lazarus from the dead to illustrate the fact that we are living among people who need to get saved and have Christ in their lives. He shows us that regardless of our circumstances, God has placed us where He wants us so that He may be glorified through our faith and our works.

Good Slander  Acts 11:25-26 In this Sunday evening service, Bro. Jim explains to us that choosing to call yourself a Christian doesn’t help you get into Heaven. The first church in Antioch were called Christians as a derogatory term but it was accurate and they must have been happy to be called that. Not only does the label Christian indicate that you follow Jesus Christ but it means that you are a replica of Christ with all the blessings and the hardships that go along with that distinction.

School’s In Session John 9:1-7 Bro. Jim uses another parable from the book of John to illustrate how our faith is directly proportional to our thinking. He also reminds us that adversities are really opportunities and that God is sovereign in all of man’s affairs. We must trust and obey Him at all times.

The Perfect Storm  John 6:15-21 After informing us for the first time ever that “something was not right this morning”, Bro. Jim proceeds to deliver one of his most powerful messages. By using the story of the Andrea Gayle and the storm which was the inspiration for the movie, The Perfect Storm, Bro. Jim tells us of the parable of the storm on the Sea of Galilee where Jesus walked on the water and calmed the fears of the seasoned fishermen who were his disciples. He teaches us that it is how we handle the storms of our lives that illustrates our true condition as Christians.

FreedomFaith  Romans 8:1-4 How to Live in Freedom - After an introduction thanking our nation’s fallen heroes and the military in general as a Memorial Day tribute, we are blessed by special music from Joyce Helms. Bro. Jim then shares his sermon explaining to us, How to Live in Freedom. 

Our Glorious Inheritance Ephesians 1:15-23 Dr. Steve Gaines, once again delivers a message that will truly bless your heart in this podcast from 4-26-09. When I watched it on their TV broadcast, I knew I had to share it with you all as soon as possible. It is from the “Exploring the Depths of God” series. 

Message From A Mystery Mother  John 6:5-11 After singing his Mother’s favorite song as a tribute to Mothers everywhere and a short video, Bro. Jim proceeds to deliver his morning message from the book of John. It tells the story of a mother who packed a lunch one day which Jesus used to perform a miracle.

Diagnosis of a Dying Church Revelation 3:1-6  First Baptist Church of Lepanto has paid off it’s 15 year note on our new Fellowship and Activity Center in 5 years! Praise God for all that he has allowed us to do in His name. Today, we celebrated by burning the note. We were blessed by special music from Cary Beth Duffel and then Bro. Jim proceeded to share the letter to Sardis about it being a dying church. There was also a powerful video shown regarding the rapid “progress” of technology and other extreme changes in the world which can be seen in the previous Godcast.

Did You Know? This video was shown in this morning’s worship service and is referenced toward the end of Bro. Jim’s sermon. It is a shocking collection of facts and figures that display the extremely rapid rate of change and “progress” in today’s world.

The Lord Is My Shepherd  Psalm 23:1-3 In this first of two sermons on the 23rd Psalm, Bro. Jim emphasises the Repletion, Rest and Restoration that the Lord provides for us. Bro. Jim also gives us a quote to remember: WHEN WE ENTER INTO HIS GREEN PASTURES AND FEED ON HIS WORD, AND WE GET BESIDE THE STILL WATERS AND DRINK FROM HIS SPIRIT, WE ARE REFRESHED WITH HIS PEACE!!!

Feasting or Fasting? John 6:5-6 Bro. Jim relates the only miracle which is told in all four Gospels. The miracle where Jesus fed the 5000 men using only 2 small fish and a few pieces of bread. He asks us to consider why it is significant and he urges us to pray about how it applies to us, today.
